How to Wash and Care for Your Grip Socks
Your grip socks work hard in every class, so a little care goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to keep the grips tacky, the fabric soft and your favourite pairs looking fresh for longer.
Turn Them Inside Out
Before washing, turn your socks inside out. This protects the silicone grips from rubbing against other clothes and helps lift sweat and dirt from the inside of the fabric.
Wash Cool and Gentle
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Hot water can weaken the grips over time and cause the fabric to shrink. Washing with similar colours also keeps whites and pastels bright.
Skip the Fabric Softener
Fabric softener leaves a residue that can make the grips slippery, which is the last thing you want on the reformer. A small amount of mild detergent is all you need.
Air Dry, Never Tumble
Lay your socks flat or hang them to dry. High heat from a tumble dryer can crack or peel the silicone grips, so air drying is the best way to protect them.
Store Them in Pairs
Once dry, fold them together and keep them in a drawer or a dedicated pouch in your gym bag, ready for your next class.
When to Replace Them
If the grips feel smooth, start peeling or the fabric wears thin at the heel, it's time for a fresh pair. With regular care, your Grip & Flow socks will support you through many, many classes.
